You have to ask yourself...why no DOE money for Aptera... yet or ever? Is
it the
Aptera car
design
itself? Is
it that the
DOE does not
like the
Aptera board
of directors
or the
people who
run Aptera
Motors? Bad
timing? Or a
combination
of factors?
Why is
Aptera
Motors not
getting the
DOE money

I want to
love Ford
but I can't,
not yet...
not until
the new
Focus all

byplug.com.
- My
Grandfather
loved Ford.
It was the
only pickup
truck there
was. Every
few years he
would get a
new Ford
truck and
now that I
think about
it, all of
his cars
were Ford as
well. When
the '64
Mustang came
out, he had
a light
yellow with
black
interior 289
V8, one of
the first
ones. He
used to burn
rubber for
us and we
loved it!
Now,
however,
Ford has
lost the
family love.
While we
have an
older Ford
expedition
and
a
Lincoln
Navigator in
the family
and take out
occasional
bank loans
to fill
their tanks,
most of our
daily driver
cars are
imports that
are more
efficient
and I would
like to
change that
situation.
Let's talk
trucks....
When I think
about a
truck, I
look at all
the brands,
Ford,
Toyota, GM,
Dodge and
others but,
I just can't
do it. I
like the
styling of
the F-150
the most
but, the
mileage is
1970's even
with the
latest
ECOboost
engine, I
call it the
OPECboost
engine. When
will Ford
lead the way
and build
the E-150
before
Toyota
builds
something
like the
E-Tundra
using plug
in Prius
tech? I
picture a
truck with
Hybrid
technology
like
Chevrolet's
Volt with a
high torque
electric
motor and
the ability
to go about
40 or 50
miles all
electric up
to about
75-80 MPH?
Plug it in
at home at
night and
perhaps
bundle with
DeWalt tools
so the truck
could have a
tool box
with 7 slots
for tool
batteries
that also
are fully
charged and
a side
electric
outlet for
120 volt
temporary
power for a
remote job
or project,
truck is a
generator if
the battery
is low. With
both
electric and
engine, the
truck would
have greater
torque than
anything
today. So,
when?
Why is
everything
copy or
imitate
instead of
risk and
take a
chance,
leadership
and then
profit. The
1964 Mustang
was a gamble
that paid
off big for
Ford.
Ford is
saying that
they will
come out
with an all
electric
Focus for
2012. Is
that my
moment to
start loving
Ford? If you

you know

PRESS RELEASE
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2, 2009 – Ford’s hot-selling new Ford Fiesta will deliver more than just great looks and top fuel economy of any vehicle in its segment when it goes on sale in North America next year. The 2011 Fiesta – available in four- and five-door body styles – also will set a new small car benchmark for safety, connectivity and powertrain technology.
In fact, Fiesta will offer North American buyers a stylish new choice of 15 class-exclusive technologies and projected highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, besting the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa and Toyota Yaris and Corolla.
