It is the replacement for the United States Dollar as the new world (order) reserve currency, that's what!

New 2011 Ford Fiestas made in Mexico that get less mileage than the European Ford Fiesta of 2008 and YOU buying them...Chinese imports replacing U.S. goods more and more and YOU buying them at WalMart because it is such a good (short term) deal....Is it?  ...and as a result, YOUR U.S. jobs keep going out of the country..........With this article above, it is just a question of time before we say goodbye to the United States as a leader in the world!

Do you understand this?: This is the averaging of the world wage and standards of living in the world. The world currently pays about $6 to $7 per gallon for gasoline measured in U.S. gallons...

...Prediction: Oil revenues will not (trickle) flow to the common people of (insert oil country .....or "has to do with oil" country.... here) and the people of (insert oil country .....or "has to do with oil" country.... here) will eventually get angry and cause .....

........'trouble'.

For years.....That 'trouble' may also be listed under a completely different headline such as "The U.S. Needs to Go 'In' Because" .. "Terrorism strikes" or "Terrorism might strike" or "Terrorism Potentially Could Be Striking"... or "Could Become a Terror Hub" or "Rebels Causing Problems to Other Governments" ...and of course the U.S. needs to help because of Democracy and the goodness of our hearts".. you may or may not agree, just asking you to think. so... read the headlines...What do you think? Is there an oil (debt oil) war connection? ..

I was talking with my pal Richard today on the telephone and we also talked .....about Egypt. We were discussing why we are programmed to think a certain way. And... why do we (The United States) send Egypt so much money when we are in massive debt in the United States?

Q: Why do we care about Egypt and send billions to their country?

Answer: Oh, maybe .....hmmmmmm....bottom line......stability in the region....OIL!

Q: Will U.S. gasoline jump to $6 or $7 per gallon (about what the rest of the world pays now) when the debt ceiling is raised and the dollar falls or is removed as the reserve currency?   ....ouch is coming!

Hello,

Hopes, dreams, speculation and the real world.

 I am a deposit holder for an Aptera Motors model Aptera 2e and have a Nissan LEAF on order as well, with a free etec charger that has been 'pre approved' for installation in my garage. My attention has also been drawn recently to the Ford Focus EV to the extent that I may cancel my LEAF reservation.

With more attention turning to electric vehicles....finally! ... I too am hanging on the hope that Aptera Motors will be granted the loan request from the DOE to build the Aptera 2e and supply my order for one of the coolest American cars NOT available today.

I have met Marques McCammon, the CMO for Aptera in the past along with other Aptera employees over the years. I thought that I should try to schedule a meeting with Marques to test out my new lasik eye procedure. This would allow me to feast my eyes on a truly beautiful electric American automobile and try to get some scoop on the company progress.

So on another even more beautiful day today here in SoCal, Marques met me in the lobby of Aptera Motors and then took the time to give me a quick tour of the massive facility and a ....ride.... in the SO-1. While I was there I also met Jeff and Oliver who work for Aptera, nice to meet you.

As we walked from one end to the other of the building, Marques provided an explanation of the planned flow of the Aptera 2e production inside the massive manufacturing and assembly areas with a brief description of some fairly simple improvements that will happen inside the building to handle the "flow". He also provided a simplified financial status of Aptera Motors. He mentioned that he could not be specific on the DOE loan application details or progress and I can appreciate that. We did discuss the events of todays news.....

.... and I suggested that this was good for Aptera because it must free up some DOE funding. The media is currently reporting stories that there seems to be pressure from the current administration that they need to get this funding out there. I think that bodes well for Aptera who in my opinion is 'almost' perfectly placed for the reception.

Now, while the news coming out of Aptera has been repetitive and slow......very slow... I found that there was a lot of new interesting work happening.

This is the first tour that I have been allowed inside the new factory/assembly plant. I suppose that if one was working around this new vehicle in this huge building every day and progress seems slow while waiting for the DOE, one might not think some of the details were interesting but, they are. And the fact that the inside of the massive building seems almost empty is not shameful or something, quite the contrary, it is effort, it is there and it is ready.

Photos were not permitted inside but, a second SO series car was partially assembled with parts to install around the chassis and employees were busy working on test mules, studying suspensions or braking systems on the rack and the SO-1 was there ready with the doors opened and ....charging.

I was looking through the passenger door of the SO-1. There was a vehicle log for recording SO-1 driving information on the floor of the passenger side. Marques said "hop in" and so I did and we were off.

 I couldn't help thinking that I was riding in a car that was "burning American energy dollars right now" instead of gasoline. Some people say..."but, if you drive an electric "we" have to burn more coal for electricity"...
...remember....  it's dollars at home 'American coal' (jobs)...

Fast. Fun. Cool. Electric. The Aptera 2e is all of those and more.

I sold my 2008 Toyota Prius #6 to 'make way' for the new American electric Aptera 2e and have been patient. My Prius had a preset regenerative braking system and you could put it in 'B' to get something like compression braking but, only so much down a hill and additionally brakes would be needed.

Very smart. The ' variable ' regenerative braking knob in the Aptera is located between the seats in the console and it is one of the coolest things in the car. I have to admit, one trip and I am a variable regen junkie now. What a smart feature. You can actually slow the car quicker by turning the knob for braking and it is such an 'electric vehicle' feature. I imagine driving down a long higher speed hill near my home and setting the regen to match the speed down the hill much like a temporary cruise control.

Electric roll down windows were handy for the warm weather, the back up camera with live video trailing behind you in the main console video display was clear and dynamic giving you a wide view of traffic.

.....My overall take away from the factory tour and Aptera company progress from my perspective at this moment in time......and ....considering my ........"ride".... thank you..

..My LEAF order is delayed, again, maybe April, the Ford Focus EV is not out yet.

With words like timing, DOE, politics, oil subsidies and funding.....and headlines like "Obama wants more funding to boost plug-in vehicle sales"... and....."GM Withdraws Application for $14 Billion Energy Loan"... Would YOU really like to give GM 14 Billion.... more??

....and Fisker....and Tesla...and Nissan taking money.... and so on...

... thanks for the tour...I believe that Aptera Motors is closer than ever to producing the Aptera 2e... it is just taking a long time.

Bottom line:  "My Aptera 2e deposit is still in".
